Long Beach Airport Completes Runway Redesignation
July 19, 2018  Long Beach Airport (LGB) redesignated two of its runways to account for natural shifts in the earth's magnetic field. Effective July 19, Runway 7R-25L is named 8R-26L, and Runway 7L-25R is named 8L-26R. The former is used primarily for general aviation, the latter is LGB’s secondary runway used for commercial and general aviation.

Runway 25L to Close Starting January 8 for Reconstruction
December 18, 2017  Runway 25L at Long Beach Airport will be closed starting January 8, 2018 for reconstruction. General Aviation aircraft that typically use this runway will be diverted to 25R, the airport’s secondary runway, and occasionally Runway 12-30, the airport’s main runway.

LGB Updated Minimum Standards
August 29, 2017  Long Beach Municipal Code (Section 16.44.130) requires the airport to establish reasonable administrative regulations relating to all aeronautical activities at Long Beach Airport, which historically has been accomplished by City Council-approved Minimum Standards for Aeronautical Activities. The City Council recently approved LGB's updated Minimum Standards at their August 15 session.
